Palo Santo is a sacred and mystical tree that grows near the coasts of South America and is related to frankincense and myrrh. In Spanish, the name translates to "Sacred Wood - Tree Of Life".

Palo Santo is used by saints in South America to purify bacteria from the air, especially to remove bad energy and spirits that dwell within spaces. It is also commonly used to relieve colds, flu symptoms, stress, asthma, headache, anxiety, depression, inflammation, emotional pain and more.

Our Palo Santo is 100% ethically harvested from organic farms from Peru and Ecuador. We work directly with small families in South America. They harvest ethically from naturally deciduous trees and branches, these families with whom we work with are keepers of this preserved lands for generations, and they have cared for these trees in a sacred way for more than 100 years.

How to use

Use a candle, matchstick, or lighter to light the Palo Santo stick. Hold at about a 45-degree angle with the tip pointing down toward the flame. Let it burn for 30 seconds to a minute, then blow onto the wood flames. Move around your workplace, home, car, bathroom, or anywhere you want to purify energy. The rich aroma will bring calm, peace and clarity for a moment along with the good vibes that you will feel and experience. When done, place the stick in a metal, glass, or fireproof clay bowl. The flame will go out on its own unless you blow on the ember which will keep the smoke going. Always be careful when working with fire.

Difference between Peruvian origin & Ecuadorian origin

As with many natural products, one can experience subtle differences when utilizing materials of different geographical origin. Just as coffee beans from different parts of the world can vary in their end product, Palo Santo (Bursera graveolens) trees also vary in their aromatic nuances depending on their particular geo-regional source. At the most fundamental level, our Palo Santo (Bursera graveolens) wood of Ecuadorian-origin is slightly more petite in size & rounded in shape, with "sweeter" notes of cinnamon, vanilla, & coconut. Our Peruvian origin is slightly larger in size & and more rectangular in shape, with the "spicier" notes of citrus, mint, and diesel. Both can exhibit aromatic notes of the other, depending on the particular pieces of wood. They are both very lovely & are simply two different varietals of our beloved Palo Santo (Bursera graveolens) wood.
